Alushta [UA] - The future must be regarded as uncertain

The 2007 purchased trolleybus Kyiv-12.04 8200 is now permanently allocated to Alushta on route 1 or 2. The start of the winter timetable on 1 st October saw reductions in the frequencies or routes 1 and 2, the latter being reduced to a 36 min. headway between 06.15 and 20.35 with two gaps for meal-breaks. Route 59 (Alushta trolleybus Station - Zaprudnoye) had increased to eight return journeys. but Service on route 53 (Yalta - Alushta) was minimal. The timetable for route 60 in Yalta has been further revised, and at weekends features only four return journeys.
In Yalta, following passenger complaints äs a result of the amalgamation of routes 1 and 3 äs 1/3, route 1 was reinstated for the summertimetable with 10 vehides, with a further 7 on 1/3.
The undertaking "Krymskyj trolejbus" is suffering severe financial difficulties, and has had to seek assistance. It is understood that Operation is guaranteed to continue until November, when a restructuring plan will be presented by the authorities. At this stage, the long-term future must be regarded as uncertain.
The booking-offices at Simferopol, Alushta and Yalta were closed from Ist August 2009. All single fares on the inter-urban routes must now be paid to the driver and, äs a result, it is no longer possible to pre-book seats for a particular journey.
